Edale & Kinder Scout

A classic circular hike exploring Kinder Scout from Edale with spectacular gritstone tors and panoramic views of the Hope Valley.

Welcome to Freshwalks. This classic hike event is part of our own vibrant business community programme and everyone is welcome to join us for a day of hiking and networking in the great outdoors. Feel free to come alone - most Freshwalkers do - and you'll be warmly welcomed or invite a colleague or client along for company.

Edale is a small village at the start/end of the UK’s first and most famous long distance walking path - the Pennine Way. Our planned route begins with quite a stiff zig-zag ascent upto Ringing Roger which we’ll take at a relaxed pace. We’ll then head west along the southern edges of Kinder Scout towards Grindsbrook Clough where we’ll stop for lunch. Thereafter, we continue past Crowden Tower and the Wool Packs onto Kinder Low, the highest point of our day before beginning our descent back into Edale via Jacob’s Ladder and the Pennine Way.
