What we collect

We collect minimal data to operate NetworkPal. This includes:

  • Event submission data (name, email, event details) when you submit an event through our form.
  • Basic analytics data such as page views and referring URLs, collected through privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use Google Analytics.
  • Technical data such as IP address and browser type, collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and performance purposes.
  • WhatsApp bot: your phone number, name (as set in WhatsApp), city preference, event interests, and conversation history.
  • Account data: email address, name, and Google account info if you create an account.
  • Email address if you voluntarily provide it during a bot conversation.

How we use it

We use the data we collect for these purposes only:

  • To review and publish event submissions on the site.
  • To contact event submitters if we need to clarify details about their event.
  • To understand which pages and cities are most popular, so we can improve the site.
  • To maintain the security and performance of our infrastructure.

What we never do

  • We never sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We never share your email address with event organisers or any other party without your consent.
  • We never send unsolicited marketing emails.
  • We never use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
  • We never create user profiles for targeted advertising.

Cookies

NetworkPal uses only essential cookies required for the site to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics, if any, use privacy-respecting methods that do not require cookies.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate NetworkPal:

  • Netlify — for hosting and serving the website.
  • Supabase — for storing event data and submissions.
  • GoHighLevel — for WhatsApp bot communication and contact management.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — conversation content is processed to understand your intent. Not stored by Anthropic beyond processing.

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We have chosen providers that take data privacy seriously.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Request that we delete your personal data.
  • Request correction of any inaccurate data.
  • Withdraw consent for any data processing at any time.

If you are in the UK or EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Data retention

Event submission data is retained for as long as the event is listed on the site, plus up to 12 months afterwards. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form only and cannot be linked to individual users. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
