Problem solving in the workplace

Problem-solving skills are skills that enable people to handle unexpected situations or difficult challenges at work.

By the end of the course, delegates will learn a range of tools and techniques to help to analyse and identify both “soft” and “hard” problems. They will know how to apply a range of problem-solving techniques including charting and visualising problems to identify the root cause(s). Delegates will also be able to generate a range of options and evaluate each one in order to identify and justify the preferred solution. Furthermore, they will produce a staged implementation plan with realistic goals and milestones to bring about the necessary changes, and identify ways to overcome barriers and obstacles.

This course is suitable for any manager or staff member who needs to think creatively to bring about improvements and overcome obstacles within their job role.
